Stephen joined us as Lead Pastor in 2016. A Georgia native, he came to us by way of Grace UMC in Mount Juliet, TN and can be found talking about his passions of college football, techie gadgets, his 3 young kids, and Jesus at any point in time. He considers himself the luckiest man alive to be married to Nicki, the real magic of #TeamSauls.
Stephen has served in full-time ministry for 10 years and brings a broad spectrum of experience with children, youth, and congregational leadership. He is passionate about helping people understand God’s Word and call on their life. This passion comes out in his teaching on Sunday mornings as well as the studies he leads throughout the week. If you look for him on Saturdays in the Fall, you will find him at his alma mater rooting on the Vanderbilt Commodores. But, you can always make sure to find Stephen on Sundays at Salem and give him a good “Anchor Down!” or even a “Go Dawgs!” when you introduce yourself!
